Gabriela Mistral (7 April 1889 – 10 January 1957) was a famous Chilean poet, diplomat, educator and feminist. The name is actually a pseudonym, her real name was Lucila Godoy Alcayaga. She received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1945, the first (and so far only) Latin American woman to do so.
