Kapac Chunchu dance group at Qoyllur Riti festival, Peru
The Kapac Chunchu dancers represent native warriors from the Qosñipata jungle who have sworn loyalty to a Virgin or saint, it is their duty to protect them during the festival. Their dresses / kilts are called unkus. The figure carrying the banner wearing a white balaclava is a Kapac Qolla dancer.
