Machu Picchu and Llamas

The best known of the South American cameloids, llamas were indispensible to the development of civilisation in the Andes. Domesticated several thousand years ago from a now extinct species, they were and still are widely used for transport, wool and meat. The animals at Machu Picchu have a far more comfortable existance!
