Sunset, Taquile Island

The inhabitants of Taquile Island, Peru, still preserve their traditional way of life that dates back centuries to before the Spanish Conquest. Arches and walls divide the island into 6 administrative districts; the island is still run almost as an independent state with very little contact with the Peruvian government in Lima.
