The Inner Lake

View across the Inner Lake, or Lago Interior to the Cordillera Real, Bolivia. The Inner Lake is a large shallow stretch of water almost entirely separated from the main lake by the Copacabana peninsular; only the Straits of Tiquina connect them. Due to its shallowness tortora reed grow in profusion and have been used by villagers for millenia. The two main peaks in the image are Chearoco (6104m / 20,025ft, L) and Chachacomani (6000m / 19,685ft, R).
