CUSCO & SACRED VALLEY

Ollantaytambo

Ollantaytambo is one of the best known Inca sites to be found in the Sacred Valley close to Cusco. Part temple, part fortress, it has some of the most impressive examples of Inca stonework ever constructed. It is also one of very few places where the Incas defeated the Spanish, in 1536 before retreating to the jungle.
