Estancia and Paine River

Old farm buildings and a wooden cart in the Paine River valley, a throwback to pre-National Park days (the Park was founded in 1959 and has been expanded several times since) when the entire area belonged to several estancias or farms. In the background is the Torres del Paine massif, with the famous towers visible in the clouds and Almirante Nieto mountain to the left.
