Rainbow over Lake Nordenskjöld
Lake Nordenskjöld borders the southern side of the Torres del Paine circuit and is named after a Swedish geologist, Otto Nordenskjöld, who led an expedition to the region in 1897. Rainbows are common in the Torres del Paine area, not only during "sunshine and showers" conditions but also in the sheets of spray whipped up from the surface of lakes by the frequent strong winds.
