Lake Nordenskjöld

The vivid red flowers of the Patagonian Firebush (Embothrium coccineum) contrast with the blue waters of Lake Nordenskjöld. In spring and early summer the Firebush lights up the Patagonian countryside. The lake is named after a Swedish geologist who led an expedition to the region in 1897.
