Villarrica volcano
Villarrica volcano (2840m / 9,320ft) is the most active volcano in Chile, and easily accesible from the popular resort town of Pucon. It is a straightforward and popular climb when activity permits; minor eruptions are commonplace and a major event in 1971 expelled 30 million cubic metres of lava in a flow that stretched for 14km.
