Lanin National Park covers 379,000 hectares of Argentina's northern Patagonia region or Lake District. The Lanin volcano (3776m / 12,390ft) is the highest in the region and sits on the Argentina/Chile border; the Park it also noted for its beautiful glacial lakes and extensive forests (especially southern beech or nothofagus and araucaria).

Lake Paimun
Waiting for a rowing boat to cross the waters where Lake Paimun joins Lake Huechulafquen. Various small farms dot this region, owned by Mapuche Indians, once the dominant people in this area.
