Lagunillas church

The Sajama region of the altiplano is famous for its small rustic churches built of adobe (mud) bricks. Many have fallen into disuse but some are still visited by the local priest on a regular (often weekly) basis. In the background is the Parinacota volcano (6330m / 20,765ft), one of the twin Payachatas volcanoes on the Bolivia - Chile border.
