Probably South America's best known capital city, Buenos Aires has an atmosphere and style that is unique. It grew rapidly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, fuelled by huge numbers of immigrants from Europe (mainly Spain and Italy) and money from meat, leather and wool industries among others (between the World Wars Argentina was one of the world's richest countries). Spending on remodelling the city in this period was enormous, not for nothing it is sometimes called "The Paris of South America" due to its European style architecture.

High quality photographic prints with a wide choice of framing options, canvas wrap prints, greeting cards and other products are available. Please visit the Framed Prints page for more details. If you would like a print of any photograph that is not shown in the printing gallery please contact James Brunker at magicalandesphotos@yahoo.com A high resolution version of the desired image can easily be uploaded for you.

Casa Rosada

Casa Rosada

The Casa Rosada ("pink house") is the presidential palace and one of the best known buildings in Buenos Aires. One of the stories as to how it came to be pink is that is was often painted with bulls blood after bullfights in the 19th century......!
