Moray

The beautiful circular terraces of Moray are found not far from Maras. They were almost certainly agricultural; the wide range of micro climates in the hollows they were built in has led to the theory that they were used to breed strains of crops for different climates. Some have also suggested that they were used to freeze dry potatoes to form chuño (a staple now as in Inca times, known as "moraya" in Quechua).
