The Virgen del Carmen is celebrated in many villages in Latin America on July 16th. One of the most famous festivals takes place in Paucartambo, a small village in the Andes near Cusco, Peru. Celebrations last for several days and feature many spectacular costumes and masks. The event is also celebrated in the village of Pisac in the Sacred Valley near Cuzco.

Kapac Negro dancers
