Cerro Cuerno and Upper Horcones Glacier

Part of the ridge at the head of the Upper Horcones Valley - just out of image to right is Plaza de Mulas base camp. The triangular mountain is Cerro Cuerno (5642m / 18,510ft). Note the icy spikes on the surface of the glacier; known as penitientes they are common here and caused by a combination of sunshine, cold dry climate and high winds.
