Ruined building and entrance to underground storage basement in upper part of the Mollo site of Iskanwaya, Muñecas Province, La Paz Department, Bolivia
One distinctive characteristic of Iskanwaya is that many houses have an underground "basement" or storage area for crops, food and supplies. These appear to have be partly open so that the strong winds that blow through the canyon (which can get v hot during the day) kept the contents cool.
