Figures on monolith at Konko Wankane site, La Paz Department, Bolivia
Konko Wankane (also spelt Khonkho Wankane / Wakani) was an important Late Formative / pre Tiwanaku era ceremonial site in the Jachcha Jahuira river valley near Jesús de Machaca approx 30km south of Tiwanaku. Some of its red sandstone monoliths have carvings of strange anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures.
