Aymara people walking along a raised section of the Qhapaq Ñan Inca road where it crosses a stream between Azafranal and Titijoni, La Paz Department, Bolivia
Image taken at an event in June 2019 organised by the Ministry of Cultures & Tourism to promote tourism and integration of Bolivia's indigenous cultures. Bolivia also assumed the Temporary Presidency / Presidencia Pro Témpore of the Qhapaq Ñan on 21st June 2019, which it will hold for 2 years. The position rotates between the 6 Andean nations through which the Qhapaq Ñan passes; UNESCO works with them to preserve the road and sustainably promote tourism along its route.
