Detail of petroglyphs at Jawincha, near San Pedro de Quemes, Potosí Department, Bolivia
The cross and possible figure of a man on horseback on this panel were probably carved after the Spanish conquest when catholicism was introduced to the region. Before the Spanish conquest horses were unknown in South America.
