Detail of large andesite maquette stone block carved in form of the Kantatallita Temple, Tiwanaku, Bolivia
This unusual andesite maquette is in the Kantatallita Temple. It is though to be a model of the temple, the design clearly shows a large sunken courtyard and 3 stairways for access. It's exact purpose is uncertain; it was maybe an architectural model or for planning festivals and large ceremonies, or possibly served as an altar.
