Image taken 30 October 2012. Sean Penn was visiting Bolivia in his role as goodwill ambassador to Haiti to discuss earthquake relief (Bolivia sent troops as part of the UN relief effort). During the visit Morales offered Penn the post of People's Ambassador. Among Penn's tasks had he accepted would have been defending the traditional uses of the coca leaf at the UN, assisting the historical claim to regain sovereign access to the Pacific coast lost to Chile and petitioning for the extradition of a former Bolivian president from the US.
