Ruins of Pueblo Quemado and village of San Pedro de Quemes, Nor Lípez Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
The ruins are of the original village of San Pedro, which was destroyed by Chilean forces in 1879 during the War of the Pacific. They are often called Pueblo Quemado, meaning Burnt Village in English. When the inhabitatns returned to the area after the war they renamed the new village San Pedro de Quemes.
