Tata Sabaya volcano and Central Andean dry puna desert, Oruro Department, Bolivia
Tata Sabaya volcano (5,430m / 17,810ft) rises above the altiplano in the far west of Bolivia to the north of the Salar de Coipasa near the Chilean border. No recent eruptions have been recorded; evidence suggests violent activity in the past, possibly even the collapse of a larger volcano.
