Rock covered with maritime deposits (stromatolites) and Echinopsis atacamensis cacti, Incahuasi Island, Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia
These stromatolite / fossilised maritime deposits were formed when the Salar and its islands were covered by the huge prehistoric Lakes Minchin and Tauca. Note the cacti are flowering in this image.
