Asociación Ecosistemas Andinos (Ecoan Peru) sign with information about queñua / polylepis forests near Abra Malaga Pass, Cusco Region, Peru
The Asociación Ecosistemas Andinos (Ecoan Peru) are involved in various projects to restore the native queñua / polylepis forests in the Cusco Region. The woodlands near Abra Malaga above Ollantaytambo are particularly important as it is one of only a few areas where the critically endangered royal cinclodes (Cinclodes aricomae) bird can be found (the bird is mentioned on the sign).
