Feather earrings and ceramic tumis for sale at Pisac market, Sacred Valley, Peru
Tumis were ceremonial knives used for sacrifices especially by the Moche, Lambayeque and other cultures of northern Peru. Nowadays it is a symbol of Peru and often used in tourism promotion campaigns. Hanging a tumi on your wall is believed to bring good luck, hence copies are often sold in craft markets.
