The Puno Region covers 66,997 km2 / 25,868 sq miles in south eastern Peru and borders Bolivia to the east. Its capital is the city of Puno and its most notable feature is Lake Titicaca (please see the Lake Titicaca gallery for images). Much of the Region consists of the Altiplano ("High Plain") and the Andes mountains, the northern part is Amazon rainforest.
