St John the Baptist of Letrán / San Juan Bautista de Letrán church was built from 1568-1602. Work was started by the Dominicans and completed by the Jesuits. The ornate carved stone side entrance facade is a superb example of mestizo baroque art with many indigenous motifs and symbols .
