Men twisting the thin grass ropes together to make the thicker ropes for rebuilding the bridge, Q'eswachaka , Canas province , Peru

Teams of men twist the 25 thin ropes together to make the thick ropes, starting from one end and working their way slowly along the approx 40m length. This process takes considerable time and is very rough on the hands!
