Adult Andean gull (Larus or Chroicocephalus serranus) in summer / breeding plumage next to main road
Common near lakes, rivers, wetlands, fields and sometimes urban habitats in Andes from Colombia south to Chile and Argentina. Can be found anywhere between 2000-5000m+ and occasionally in coastal areas. Lake Chungará is an important border crossing between Chile and Bolivia. Local name: gaviota andina.
