Oca (Oxalis tuberosa) is a herbaceous plant with tubers similar to potatoes that is an important staple crop in the Andes and commonly grown as a root vegetable. It is very nutritious (an important source of vitamin C, potassium and iron, as well as other vitamins) and grows easily in poor soils and harsh climates. The freeze dried version is called kalla.
