The unusual rock art site at Waylla Ph’uyu is thought to show a battle between indigenous and Spanish / colonial armies. It most likely refers to the indigenous uprisings of 1781-2, but could also possibly be of a later rebellion in the 19th century Republican period. The site consists of 2 main panels with groups of human and animal figures facing each other. This image shows the right hand panel, thought to be the Spanish / colonial soldiers on horseback. The black figures on the lower part of the panel could possibly be Afro-bolivians from the Yungas region. Period reports mention the presence of some freed / ex slaves in the Spanish / royalist armies. I have more detail images of this site, please message if you are interested in seeing more!
