The unusual rock art site at Waylla Ph’uyu is thought to show a battle between indigenous and Spanish / colonial armies. It most likely refers to the indigenous uprisings of 1781-2, but could also possibly be of a later rebellion in the 19th century Republican period. The site consists of 2 main panels with groups of human and animal figures facing each other. This image shows the left hand panel, thought to be the indigenous rebels both on horseback and on foot. I have more detail images of this site, please message if you are interested in seeing more!
