This mural of Pachamama (an ancient Earth Goddess long revered by the indigenous people of the Andes) is full of symbolism. It shows both Bolivian national flags (the Tricolor and chequered wiphala) and national flowers (the kantuta and the pataju, a type of heliconia). She is holding a coca leaf and a ceremonial staff with a puma head (similar Staff God iconography is common in Tiwanaku / Tiahuanaco and other ancient sites). On her forehead is a version of the Eye of Providence enclosed in an Andean Cross or Chakana with the chequered pattern of the wiphala flag. The mountains are Illimani (L) and Huayna Potosi (R), both of which are visible from the location of the mural.
