These figures are a new design this year in addition to traditionally dressed niños as a result of the covid 19 coronavirus pandemic. Nativity scenes are an important Christmas decoration in houses and public places in Latin America, and also Spain (where the tradition comes from) and many figurines for them are sold in markets before Christmas.
