Christ of Peace / Cristo de la Corcordia statue , El Morro headland , Arica , Region XV , Chile
The collection of monuments on El Morro headland commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Lima between Peru and Chile in 1929. The bronze Christ of Peace / Cristo de la Concordia was designed by the Chilean artist Raúl Valdivieso. It was built in sections in Madrid, transported to Arica in 1987 and erected in 1999. It is 11m high and weighs 15 tons
