The 33 miners were trapped when a tunnel collapsed in the San José mine (which is near Copiapo) on 5 August 2010. They were finally rescued on 13th October 2010 after 70 days underground, the longest time anyone has survived being trapped underground. #3 and the yellow frame at the base og the hill mark the site where the rescue actually occurred, #4 the site of the Plan C backup rescue tunnel that wasn't needed in the end.
