Men laying out the thin grass ropes prior to making the thicker ropes for rebuilding the bridge, Q'eswachaka , Canas province , Peru
In this photo the thin grass ropes are being laid out on the dirt road near the bridge site in preparation for making the thick ropes. 25 thin ropes are needed to make a thick rope. Several teams from different communities go through the process of making the thick ropes at the same time on different stretches of the road.
