K'usillos were traditionally mischievous characters in Andean folklore who were part devil, part monkey. They regularly take part in festivals in the Andean highlands, accompanying a variety of traditional dances. They often play pranks on spectators as part of their role as entertainers, and sometimes wear costumes that are parodies of modern figues rather than traditional ones. The badges on this uniform feature the Peruvian national flag (red and white) and the Puno Region flag (pale blue and white).
