Formerly known as Creamy-breasted canastero (which has now been renamed as several species / subspecies). Common in a variety of drier habitats with shrubs, scrub vegetation (often with cacti) and agricultural areas from approx 2500-4000m in highlands and valleys of western Bolivia and northern Argentina. Local name: canastero rojizo.
