Shamans at start of rituals to Pachamama (Mother Earth) before the rebuilding the bridge, Q'eswachaka , Canas province , Peru
Before and during the bridge replacement process shamans make offerings to Pachamama to ask her permission and her blessing for the new bridge. Women are not allowed down to the site of the bridge while it is being replaced, as it is believed their presence will make Pachamama jealous.
