Adult Olivaceous or Neotropic cormorant ( Phalacrocorax brasilianus ) on pier with fresh nesting material
Found from southern USA southwards throughout Central and South America and parts of the Caribbean, both on coasts and inland fresh water. Usually considered to be at least two subspecies: P. b. mexicanus from Nicaragua northwards and P. b. brasilianus southwards in South America. Local names: biguá, yeco, viguá comun, pato cuervo, mbigua.
