Peruvian booby (Sula variegata)
Common in the cold Humboldt Current region off Pacific coasts of Chile and Peru, where the northernmost breeding site is Isla Lobos de Tierra. Non breeding birds can wander north to Colombia, especially in El Niño years. It is the second most important guano producing species (after the guanay cormorant). Local name: piquero.
