Inca stone walls of Manco Capac's palace, San Cristobal, Cusco, Peru
Manco Capac was the first Sapa Inca (king), ruling from approx 1200-1230. Little is known about him from historical sources. He and his wife are two of the main figures in Inca mythology, in legends (there are 2 main versions) he founded Cusco and the Inca empire.
