Adobe chullpas near Cerro Huaraca, near Caquiaviri, La Paz Department, Bolivia
Cerro Huaraca is near Caquiaviri in the Pacajes Province of La Paz Department, a region called Pacasa / Pakasa by the Incas. The chullpas have been dated to the 14th and 15th centuries. It appears the Inca had an earlier presence in this part of the altiplano than some others; ceramics found in the Caquiaviri area in particular show an Inca influence, a style and culture often referred to as Inca- Pacajes.
