Carved figures on side of the Jinchunkala monolith at site of Konko Wankane, La Paz Department, Bolivia

Konko Wankane (also spelt Khonkho Wankane / Wakani) was an important Late Formative / pre Tiwanaku era ceremonial site in the Jachcha Jahuira river valley near Jesús de Machaca approx 30km south of Tiwanaku. The Jinchunkala monolith is the largest and most significant at the site. The figure at the bottom with a serpentine body could be a snake or possibly a young catfish (which are still found in marshes and streams near the site). Above it is a "falling man" figure.
