Dried up Lake Huaña Kota and Payachatas volcanos, Sajama National Park, Bolivia
Image taken on 1st Sept 2016. 2015 and 2016 (an El Niño period) were much drier than usual in western Bolivia, causing water levels in many lakes to drop more than is normal during the winter dry season. See following images of lake with water level that is normal at end of summer rainy season for comparison. Note also the lack of snow and ice on the Payachatas volcanos in the background compared to other images in the gallery.
