John Thomas North (30 January 1842 – 5 May 1896) was an English investor and businessman from Yorkshire. He had a monopoly share of the Chilean nitrate industry in the late 19th century and was known as "The King of Nitrates". He also had important investments in waterworks, railways, iron and coal mines.
