Sajama volcano and queñua bush (Polylepis tarapacana), Sajama National Park, Bolivia
Polylepis tarapacana is found in the dry central Andean puna regions of Peru, western Bolivia and northern Chile. It has been found at altitudes of 5200m / 17,060ft on the flanks of Sajama volcano, making it the highest growing tree in the world.
